Welcome On behalf of Civil Air Patrol's nearly 60,000 volunteer members nationwide and overseas, welcome to the Apex Cadet Squadron of Civil Air Patrol,  the United States Air Force Auxiliary

Through Civil Air Patrol's Cadet Program, young people develop leadership skills, investigate the fundamentals of aerospace science, acquire the habit of exercising regularly, solidify their character, and participate in exciting hands-on activities that prepare them to become responsible citizens.

Youth between the ages of 12-18 may join the CAP Cadet Program and remain in cadet status until they turn 21. Middle school students may join before turning 12, if  their school participates in the CAP School Program.

Through their experiences as CAP cadets, young people develop into responsible citizens and become tomorrow's aerospace leaders. The leadership skills, self-confidence, and discipline cadets gain through CAP prepares them to achieve whatever goals they set for themselves in life. CAP is the volunteer, non-profit auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Its three missions are to develop its cadets, educate Americans on the importance of aviation and space, and perform live-saving humanitarian missions

The CAP Cadet Program:

  • Develops leadership skills in youth
  • Develops youth into responsible citizens
  • Develops character in youth
  • Inspires in youth a love of aviation and space
  • Introduces youth to aerospace careers
  • Motivates youth for academic success
